The Center for Jewish-Christian-Muslim Understanding, Inc.
The Center for Jewish-Christian-Muslim Understanding, Inc., began shortly after September 11, 2001, when our founders discovered they were working with a great many people who had experienced personal trauma and direct losses as a result of the tragic events of that day. Four Jews, four Christians, and four Muslims comprise our board of directors. Several are members of the clergy. All believe that the people of the faiths of Abraham can, despite the challenges they face, learn to live together in mutual respect and greater harmony.
Surely the best way to accomplish this goal is by getting to know one another. Through the Center’s various programs and resources, people of different faiths and ethnic groups have a chance to learn about one another’s customs and beliefs and to respect their diversity.
The Center was incorporated in May 2002 and secured 501 (c) (3) status in September 2002. It is headquartered at the Church of St. Barnabas in Irvington, New York.
